MODA FIRE BARRIER

A high quality schedule 3 fire barrier woven in fire retardant modacrylic and cotton, offering flexibility and a soft feel once fused to the back of your fabric to reinforce the material for upholstery, making it easy to work with. This process minimizes the upholsterer’s time and energy in production as the face fabric has been laminated with the fire barrier therefore creating a single substrate for faster application.

A schedule 3 fire barrier protects some of the harmful foam used in upholstered furniture from being exposed. The Moda Fire Barrier meets BS 5852 CRIB 5, FAR 25.853 12 SEC & I.M.O FTPC Part 8 without compromising the quality or durability of the fabric.*Face fabric must be FR Treated before sending for backing service.

Fire Barrier interliner is far superior to back coating finish as this process involves applying a flame retardant paste to the reverse side of the fabric and is then heat cured. Whereas this Fire Barrier is a fabric laminated to the back of a material greatly reducing concerns of any wet adhesive seeping through or changing the colour and handle of the face fabric.

Below we have a table showing the comparison between two processes:
