WOVEN FR BACKING
Woven FR backing is a mesh material used to reinforce and stabilise fabrics and this is laminated to the backside of materials. This stabilisation layer has fire retardant properties passing for usage in aerospace to standard FAR 25.853 12 sec and automotive interiors standard FMVSS 302.
This backing makes delicate fabrics such as linens, silks, cottons and other types of fabrics more suitable for upholstery usage and considerably reduces seam slippage.
The key benefits of knit backing is that it provides a luxurious soft feel and most importantly increases wear resistance for a longer life span.
This woven FR backing must be used in conjunction with a schedule 3 interliner or fabric must be FR back coated before lamination if using for upholstery purposes.*Face fabric must be FR Treated before sending for backing service for commercial usage.
